2025 SPEEDWAY EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP CALENDAR CONFIRMED

The 2025 Speedway European Championship calendar has been revealed as riders battle it out for a spot in the 2026 Speedway GP series.

The four-round championship gets underway at the famous Polonia Stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland on July 12, before the action moves to German venue Gustrow on July 26.

Leszno’s storied Alfred Smoczyk Stadium hosts round three on August 23, with the championship concluding at iconic Czech club Pardubice on the opening night of the city’s Golden Helmet weekend on September 19.

Latvian racer Andzejs Lebedevs defends the SEC crown he won for a second time in Chorzow last September – a result which guaranteed his place in the 2025 Speedway GP World Championship.

He is joined in the competition by 2024 runner-up Leon Madsen, who bids for his third European title and an instant return to the Speedway GP line-up for 2026 after being forced to settle for the first reserve spot for this year.

Last year’s SEC bronze medallist Kacper Woryna of Poland also qualified automatically, along with Speedway GP newcomer Anders Thomsen in fourth place and Poland’s Piotr Pawlicki in fifth.

A further five riders will make it into the line-up via the SEC Challenge, which takes place at German track Stralsund on May 31.

To make it to Stralsund, riders will compete in qualifiers staged in Brokstedt (Germany), Debrecen (Hungary) and Mureck (Austria) on May 1, as well as French track Lamothe-Landerron on May 17.

The remaining five places in the SEC series will be permanent wild-card picks nominated by promoter One Sport and FIM Europe.
