Former FIM Italian Speedway GP venue Terenzano will host the 2026 FIM SGP Challenge on Saturday, July 25.
The top four riders in a famously hard-fought event will qualify for the 2027 Speedway GP World Championship, and it will be the first FIM SGP Challenge to take place in Italy since 2014, when Aussie ace Jason Doyle was among the qualifiers at Lonigo – winning the world title just three years later.
Places in the FIM SGP Challenge will be earned at three qualifying rounds in Abensberg, Germany on May 25, Slovak circuit Zarnovica on May 30 and British track Glasgow – also on May 30.
All three FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship qualifiers will take place on June 27 at Czech club Pardubice, Slovenian circuit Krsko and Danish track Fjelsted.
The top four riders in each advance into the three-round SGP2 series, which gets underway at Swedish venue Malilla on July 10, before moving to new host Lodz in Poland on July 31. The championship climaxes at Denmark’s Vojens Speedway Center on September 11.
The two FIM SGP3 Semi-Finals will be held at a venue to be confirmed on June 13, with the top eight riders in each advancing to the FIM SGP3 Final at Wroclaw’s iconic Olympic Stadium on June 19.
The world’s biggest all-female speedway event returns to Croatia’s Speedway Stadion Milenium in Donji Kraljevec on July 4, with the competition now known as the FIM Women’s Speedway World Cup – upgraded from Gold-Trophy status for 2026.
An FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy will take place on the same day, but this will now be a competition for 250cc under-16 riders.
