The 2026 British Championship winner will be crowned at Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium on Saturday, August 15 (7pm).
Last year’s event climaxed in what is widely regarded as one of the greatest speedway races of all time, which saw Speedway GP star Robert Lambert snatch the win ahead of local racer Charles Wright, world No.3 Dan Bewley and triple British champion Chris Harris.
Lambert heads to Manchester bidding to win what would be his third national crown, while Bewley chases his fourth in five years at the home of his British club Belle Vue.
With the British Final taking place after the ATPI FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Manchester double-header on June 5 and 6, this year’s SGP wild card will be nominated by the British Speedway Promoters Ltd board of directors, with the name subject to confirmation by the SGP Commission.
In previous seasons, the FIM British Speedway GP wild card was handed to the new national champion, with the national event staged earlier in the year.
Belle Vue CEO Mark Lemon is delighted to see the Aces stage an 11th straight British Final. He said: “We’re proud that the National Speedway Stadium is the established home of the British Final.
“Nobody who was here for the meeting last year will ever forget the incredible race which decided the title, and this is the sort of action which our track can generate on a regular basis.
“It’s also pleasing to be able to secure a Saturday date for the meeting, as I know that was very popular the last time that we were able to run at the weekend two years ago.”
Places in the British Final will be up for grabs in the Semi-Final at Leicester on Sunday, June 21.
