BEWLEY: FOCUS ON POLISH TITLE CHARGE

Great Britain racer Dan Bewley admits starring for Polish side Wroclaw is his focus as he bids to end a tough 2026 on a high.

Bewley made his World Championship comeback after seven rounds out with a broken femur when he raced in last Saturday’s Deluxe Homeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens.

While he failed to score in the damp conditions, Bewley has returned in Poland to play a key role in Wroclaw’s charge to the PGE Ekstraliga play-off final, with the first leg in Torun this Sunday.

Bewley hopes to star for his side at the Marian Rose Motoarena – six days ahead of his Speedway GP trip to the venue – and admits piling up the points in Poland is his top priority at the end of a season that has left him out of Speedway GP qualification contention and hoping for a wild card for 2027.

He said: “To be honest, racing for Wroclaw is my main focus at the moment. That was the best job I felt I could do on Saturday, and it just wasn’t going to happen for me. I can still do a job in Poland, and that’s the plan.”

Bewley admits Polish track conditions suit him better as he regains full strength on the bike. He said: “In certain conditions, if I am riding in Poland, I am good to go. If the GP had been in Wroclaw last Saturday, it would have been a different story.

“Somewhere like Vojens is still a bit of a struggle for me, but it’s coming and it’s getting better. It’s just the strength. I’m all good if I am in front, but that was the best I could do. It just wasn’t my day. Hopefully I have time now to be better on a tighter track for Torun.

“I did an interview last Saturday morning, saying I was back for the GPs. Really, I don’t feel like I am back. Hopefully in Torun, I will be back properly, and I can put a better show on.”
