Great Britain racer Dan Bewley bagged his first sprint-race victory of 2025 after taking the chequered flag in Qualifying for the Events.com FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow on Saturday.
Bewley, who won both the Warsaw and Cardiff sprint races in 2024, defeated Germany’s Kai Huckenbeck in Q1, before getting the better of Stal Gorzow rider Martin Vaculik on his home track in Q2 to secure his spot in the sprint race.
He then claimed four Speedway GP World Championship points after taking victory ahead of Sweden’s Fredrik Lindgren, Polish hero Bartosz Zmarzlik and Australia’s Jack Holder.
Lindgren secured three championship points after beating Britain’s Robert Lambert in Q1 and Stal Gorzow racer Anders Thomsen in Q2, before taking second spot in his first-ever sprint race.
Local favourite Zmarzlik reached his third sprint race of the season on his boyhood track after beating Speedway GP World Championship rival Brady Kurtz in Q1 and Czech racer Jan Kvech in Q2. He collected two championship points for finishing third in the sprint.
Holder appeared in his first-ever Speedway GP sprint race after beating Stal Gorzow’s Andzejs Lebedevs in Q1 and Polish star Dominik Kubera in Q2. Fourth place in the sprint earned him one championship point.
