BEWLEY'S INJURY UPDATE

Great Britain racer Dan Bewley admits he cannot put a date on his racing return as he continues his injury recovery.

The Cumbrian crashed in the opening race of Danish club Region Varde’s Speedwayligaen match at home to Slangerup on May 20, suffering a broken femur and a compressed vertebra in his back.

Bewley has missed the past three Speedway GP events and will also sit out the DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw this Saturday on his PGE Ekstraliga home track.

In a video posted on Wroclaw’s social media channels, Bewley issued an update on his road to recovery. He said: “Hello everybody, I just want to check in and talk about my physio. I have been training and everything has been going pretty well. I am just taking it day by day at the moment.

“It’s tough to say when I will be back. I am just taking it day by day and everything is going well.

"It has been nice supporting the rest of the team. They had a good meeting in Czestochowa. I was looking forward to coming to the stadium last Sunday (for the postponed Gorzow match), but I will be there for the next meeting.

“It has been good watching. Obviously, I would rather be racing, but hopefully I will be back soon, and thank you everyone for the support.”
