Czech hero Jan Kvech sent the Pardubice fans wild as he won the city’s legendary Golden Helmet event on Sunday.
Kvech stormed to victory in the six-rider final, first getting the better of Germany’s Kai Huckenbeck on lap two, before hunting down Lebedevs to snatch the win and spark big celebrations.
Swedish star Kim Nilsson took fourth place with Denmark’s Nicolai Klindt fifth and Aussie icon Jason Doyle sixth after suffering a bike defect at the start line.
