Denmark broke Poland’s iron grip on the Speedway European Team Championship trophy as Rasmus Jensen led his side to victory at Saturday’s Final in Rzeszow.
Jensen topped the Danish scoring in 12 points, while national champion Michael Jepsen Jensen tallied 10 as Denmark denied the Poles a trophy that they had lifted every season since the competition launched in 2022.
Frederik Jakobsen added eight points, former Speedway GP star Mikkel Michelsen scored seven, with Villads Nagel collecting five at reserve as Denmark finished on 42 points.
Former SGP2 rider Bartosz Banbor was Poland’s star man on 14, as his country took second place on 39. Six-time world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik zoomed to 12, with Przemyslaw Pawlicki adding eight.
The Swedes took the bronze medals on 26, with two-time national champion Jacob Thorssell collecting 11 and Fredrik Lindgren tallying 10.
Latvia finished fourth on 25 – falling just a point short of the podium – as their Speedway GP star Andzejs Lebedevs scored 12 points, with former SGP2 rider Francis Gusts picking up six.
