DANES STORM INTO SWC FINAL WITH RIGA WIN

Denmark completes the line-up for the BOLL FIM Speedway World Cup Final – Warsaw on August 29 after winning 11.lv FIM SWC Semi-Final 2 – Riga on Friday evening.

Despite scoring just three points from their opening four heats, the four-time SWC champions powered back into the meeting, taking victory on 40 points.

They now face hosts Poland, 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations world champions Australia and Semi-Final 1 winners Great Britain at the BOLL FIM SWC Final – Warsaw at PGE Narodowy.

Danish champion Leon Madsen led the charge on 14 – a huge boost as he prepares for Saturday’s DEWALT FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga, which also takes place at Bikernieki.

Sweden took second place on 32 points, finishing level with Latvia, who also recorded 32. But with the Swedes registering five race wins compared to Latvia’s three, they were placed second and the hosts took third spot.

Swedish champion Kim Nilsson played the super sub role superbly at No.5, leading his side’s scoring on 11. Latvian icon Andzejs Lebedevs raced to 14 points for his side and will hope to go even better in front of a packed Bikernieki crowd for Saturday’s Speedway GP event.

Norway took fourth place on their SWC Semi-Final debut, scoring 15 points. Former SGP2 bronze medallist Mathias Pollestad was their star man on six.
