European champion Patryk Dudek admits he needs “a few days off” to recover from his crash in the Polish Championship decider in Ostrow on Saturday.
Dudek fell in his opening ride after being caught by Speedway GP rival Bartosz Zmarzlik going into turn three. He withdrew from the meeting and was taken to hospital for checks.
While Dudek’s injuries were not found to be serious, he admits he needs a short break as he sits out Torun’s PGE Ekstraliga home meeting with Wroclaw on Sunday.
Posting on Facebook, Dudek wrote: “Yesterday during the IMP competition in Ostrow, I had a dangerous looking fall. After the competition, I underwent detailed examinations at the hospital, and today I had another consultation.
“Fortunately, the most important information is that the bones are intact. However, I need a few days off and a calm recovery, so unfortunately, I won't be starting in the next match #TORWRO. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the boys and I believe the team will do its thing!
“Thank you all for the huge number of messages, calls, and words of support after yesterday's fall. It really means a lot to me. Now a few days of rehabilitation to get back to full strength and get back on the track as soon as possible.”
We wish Patryk a speedy recovery.
