Aussie FIM Speedway World Cup winner Ryan Douglas is on his way to Swedish side Vastervik for the 2027 season.
The Queenslander returns to Sweden, having last raced there for Rospiggarna in 2025, having debuted with Dackarna in 2024.
Douglas can’t wait to line up for Vastervik. He said: “It feels really good to be back in Sweden next season and to ride for Västervik. I have always been very comfortable on the track and look forward to riding there again.
“I have had Micke (Teurnberg) as a team leader for a couple of seasons before, and he is very good at creating a great atmosphere in the team. It will be fun to be a part of it again, and I look forward to a really good season.”
He is joined in the Vastervik side by Danish racer Rasmus Jensen and Swedish star Noel Wahlquist, who have also signed in recent days, linking up with Aussie icon Jason Doyle, double Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell, SGP2 star Villads Nagel, Leo Klasson and Anton Karlsson.
Elsewhere, Indianerna has confirmed local hero and 2026 SGP2 star Rasmus Karlsson will continue with the Kumla club.
Former SWC winner Mikkel Bech lines up for Rospiggarna, having also agreed terms with Slangerup in Denmark. Piraterna has confirmed Erik Persson in their side for 2027, while Mathias Thornblom heads to Lejonen and Andreas Lyager and Avon van Dyck have both agreed terms with Dackarna.
