DOYLE POSTS INJURY UPDATE

Aussie racer Jason Doyle has posted an update on Instagram following his crash in Czestochowa’s PGE Ekstraliga match with Zielona Gora on Sunday.

The 2017 Speedway GP world champion was making his racing return after sustaining a dislocated hip in heat 15 of the Orlen Oil FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw on May 17.

After scoring four paid six points from four outings for the Lions, Doyle suffered a fall after being caught by Falubaz rider Rasmus Jensen in race 14, with the Dane disqualified for the collision.

Doyle was taken to hospital for checks and was promptly discharged. Posting on Instagram on Monday evening, he offered an update on his fitness, as well as insisting nobody pressured him into a rapid return as he tested his fitness ahead of Saturday’s FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague, along with Czestochowa’s trip to Wroclaw on Friday.

He wrote: “Well last night my plan didn't end well! Firstly, I want to let you all know that I wasn't pushed to ride in Poland last night ... I did it for myself.

“Secondly, it was to see if I could handle this Friday’s Polish meeting and Saturday's SGP! I'm not trying to prove anything! All that I wanted was to be ready for back-to-back meetings!

“As the story went, I crashed and re-injured my hip! It happens and that's life! Thank you to my wife and all my friends who backed me! Jason XX.”

We wish Jason a speedy recovery.
