DUDEK: SAME AGAIN?

European champion Patryk Dudek is determined to build on a sensational 2025 season as he returns to the FIM Speedway Grand Prix title race.

The Torun star is back on the sport’s biggest stage after winning last season’s Speedway European Championship series.

It was an incredible year, which also saw him win the Polish Championship, help Torun land their first PGE Ekstraliga title since 2008 and finish second in the league’s average charts on 2.363 points per race. He also helped Slangerup to Danish Speedwayligaen glory.

During his one 2025 Speedway GP appearance, Dudek took third place as Orlen Oil FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw wild card at PGE Narodowy.

The three-time SGP winner was delighted to take his red-hot form into so many different competitions, and he hopes to bring it into Speedway GP this year.

Reflecting on 2025, he said: “If you race well all season, you race everywhere well. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Polish league, Speedway GP or the Swedish or Danish leagues.

“Of course, last year was perfect for me. I have the plan to race the same as last year, but we will see what happens. Now I am back, and I am happy to be fighting for the best trophy in speedway again.

“The important thing is staying in the top seven. But, of course, I am fighting for a good result after the last round.  Let’s take it slow for now. I think the important thing is racing safely and not having big crashes.”

Dudek is no stranger to the Speedway GP podium. In 2017, he became first rider in the series’ history to reach the top two in their debut season. Dudek hopes being nine years older and wiser can help him return to that level.

“Of course, I am a little older than I was in 2017, and I know what Speedway GP is now,” the 33-year-old said. “When I raced in the series nine years ago for the first time, it was a big experience for me. Now I know what skills I have, and my plan is to score well in all the rounds.”
