EKSTRALIGA | ZMARZLIK LEADS LUBLIN VICTORY CHARGE AS LINDGREN RETURNS

Polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik raced to 11 paid 12 points as Lublin stunned hosts Zielona Gora 50-40 on the day Swedish icon Fredrik Lindgren made his racing return.

Lindgren had not raced since he crashed out of Lublin’s loss at Leszno on May 17 and scored six points on his comeback, while Mateusz Cierniak tallied 10, Kacper Woryna collected nine paid 11 and Martin Vaculik accrued eight paid nine points.

Latvian ace Andzejs Lebedevs led the Falubaz scoring on 11 paid 13, with Danish racer Leon Madsen tallying 10.

Meanwhile, Zielona Gora’s British young gun Will Cairns also gave the Falubaz fans plenty to shout about when he passed Lindgren for an eye-catching win in heat four – just 24 hours after qualifying for the 2026 SGP2 series.

In the day’s other meeting, Aussie racer Ben Cook stormed to a 15-point maximum for Leszno as they romped to a 53-37 win away to Gorzow.

Poland’s Grzegorz Zengota backed him up on 12 paid 14, with Aussie rider Keynan Rew also impressing on 10 paid 12. Ukrainian star Nazar Parnitskyi notched five paid seven.

Former Danish champion Ander Thomsen was Gorzow’s leading scorer on 12 points, with Pawel Przedpelski adding eight paid nine as the club struggled badly in the injured Jack Holder’s absence.
