ESBJERG HOSTS DANISH FINAL

The 2026 Danish Championship will take place in Esbjerg on Wednesday, June 17.

The Vikings will host an event, which decides Denmark’s entrants for the following season’s Speedway GP and Speedway European Championship qualification rounds.

Speedway GP newcomer and current Danish champion Michael Jepsen Jensen secured his spot in the 2025 SGP qualifiers via the 2024 Danish Final and will now take his place in the Speedway GP series after finishing fifth at the FIM SGP Challenge in Holsted last August. Others will hope to follow MJJ’s path on to the sport’s biggest stage.

Esbjerg chairman Per Wiekhorst is delighted to bring the event to Esbjerg. He said: “It is a great honour for Esbjerg and for the club to be allowed to hold the Danish Championship.

“We look forward to welcoming riders, officials and the audience to a day of great sporting intensity. The fact that there are places for SEC and SGP at stake raises the level and makes the competition extra intense. The preparations have started, and we are already looking forward to it.”
