Six-time Speedway GP champion Bartosz Zmarzlik picked up fourth place in Przeglad Sportowy’s prestigious Polish Athlete of the Year vote for 2025.
Zmarzlik was honoured for storming to a record-equalling sixth gold medal – matching the mark achieved by New Zealand great Ivan Mauger and Swedish legend Tony Rickardsson.
The record 29-time Speedway GP winner hopes to become the sport’s first seven-time individual world champion in 2026.
Poland’s equivalent of Britain’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year was won by kayak star Klaudia Zwolińska, with Wimbledon tennis champion Iga Swiatek second and volleyball player Wilfredo Leon in third position.
Zmarzlik finished ahead of 24 Hours of Le Mans winner and former Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica, pictured above with the SGP icon, who was fifth, with high jumper Maria Żodzik sixth and Barcelona football icon Robert Lewandowski in seventh place.
