Speedway GP star Max Fricke and former world No.3 Maciej Janowski have joined a star-studded line-up for the Ben Fund Bonanza at Oxford on Sunday, March 23 (6pm).
Leicester racer Fricke joins Speedway GP rivals Fredrik Lindgren and Jason Doyle at Cowley, with Janowski confirmed for the event on his Rowe Motor Oil Premiership home track.
He is expected to be one of the frontrunners in a meeting staged to raise cash for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund – a charity that supports riders temporarily and permanently sidelined by speedway injuries.
The Bonanza also features two-time FIM Speedway of Nations world champion Tom Brennan, plus former British champions Adam Ellis, Charles Wright and Danny King.
Two-time Aussie champion Sam Masters, German international Erik Riss, Polish star Tobiasz Musielak and Poole signing Lewis Kerr also join the line-up with more riders to be confirmed.
Tickets for the event are now on sale HERE, priced at £25, with under-16s admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
Ben Fund Chairman Paul Ackroyd said: “I hope supporters will see their admission money as a donation to the Ben Fund and so making a contribution towards the welfare of the injured riders. I think the quality of the field will reward everyone attending what should be a great event.”
The Ben Fund Bonanza will also feature some of Britain’s top female riders, with Rachel Hellowell and Katie Gordon, who competed in the inaugural FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy in Teterow, Germany last summer, competing alongside Anastasia Sallee and Tia Brant.
ACU Women’s Ambassador Pippa Laverty is delighted to see them join the line-up for one of the sport’s biggest early-season events.
She said: “Speedway is a fantastic sport, and it’s great to see more women getting involved. The continued support of the Ben Fund Bonanza in featuring a women’s race is vital to increasing participation. Thanks to the support of the Ben Fund organisers and everyone involved in the sport, we are seeing real progress. Representation matters – if she can see it, she can be it.”
