FRICKE & LAMBERT WIN POLISH INDIVIDUALS

Speedway GP star Max Fricke stepped up his preparations for the 2026 SGP season with victory at the Criterion of Aces individual event in Bydgoszcz on Sunday.

Fricke stormed to victory in each of his first four heats. Despite finishing fourth in his final ride, he still took top spot ahead of Torun star Emil Sayfutdinov, who was second on 11, with 2021 Speedway GP world champion Artem Laguta third on 10.

Former SGP2 champion Wiktor Przyjemski raced to nine points in the year he returns to his boyhood club – a score matched by Speedway GP riders Andzejs Lebedevs and Kacper Woryna.

Bydgoszcz sensation Maksymilian Pawelczak impressed on eight, finishing ahead of international stars Szymon Wozniak, Mikkel Michelsen, Aleksandr Loktaev, Patryk Dudek, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Tom Brennan, who all registered seven points.

Elsewhere, Great Britain racer Robert Lambert topped the podium in the Rif Saitgareyev Memorial in Ostrow. Lambert won the final ahead of world No.2 Brady Kurtz in second, six-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik in third and Danish champion Michael Jepsen Jensen in fourth place.

MJJ blazed through his heats with a 15-point maximum, but he couldn’t follow it up in the final as 2024 SGP silver medallist Lambert triumphed over a strong field. Piotr Pawlicki tallied 10 points, with world No.3 Dan Bewley, Jaimon Lidsey and Frederik Jakobsen scoring eight apiece.

Meanwhile, at Slovak circuit Zarnovica, Martin Vaculik was crowned national champion on his boyhood track, winning the final ahead of Czech charger Jan Kvech in second. Slovenia’s Matic Ivacic was third, with Bartosz Jaworski fourth, Vaclav Milik fifth and Latvian racer Francis Gusts sixth.
