Former Speedway GP silver medallist Jaroslaw Hampel has extended his stay with Swedish champions Lejonen into 2025.
Hampel missed their Bauhaus Elitserien title triumph after suffering a broken arm in mid-August but has established himself as a firm favourite with the Gislaved club.
While he is not expected to race the full season in Sweden, boss Anders Frojd is delighted to have Hampel on board.
He said: “Jaroslaw has raced for the Lions since 2019. Before that he rode for Vetlanda for 12 seasons. Jaroslaw is thus a very loyal and faithful rider. He wanted to stay. We agreed early on. Jaroslaw wants to run about half of the matches. He will get to race a lot of meetings.”
Elsewhere, this year’s FIM Gorzow Speedway GP wild card Oskar Fajfer has agreed a fresh contract with Piraterna, where he serves as club captain.
The Pole said: “I have never even thought about any other club in Sweden. Piraterna feels like home. I look forward to the coming season and I am sure that we are a team that will fight like real pirates.”
Meanwhile, former world No.3 Niels-Kristian Iversen has agreed terms with Vargarna, where he joins forces with former World Under-21 champions Jaimon Lidsey and Jakub Miskowiak, former SGP2 rider Kevin Juhl Pedersen, Marcin Nowak, Victor Palovaara, Filip Hjelmland and Christoffer Selvin.
