Speedway GP star Jack Holder will chase his second Australian Championship after the line-up for the 2026 series in January was revealed.
Reigning champion and world No.2 Brady Kurtz opts out of the series, along with SGP rivals Jason Doyle and Max Fricke.
But Holder will be in action over the four-round competition, along with 2012 Speedway GP world-champion brother Chris Holder.
They are joined by two-time national champion Rohan Tungate, former World Under-21 champion Jaimon Lidsey, brothers Ben and Zach Cook, former Aussie Under-21 champion Keynan Rew, former Aussie Championship runner-up Justin Sedgmen, SON2 stars Tate Zischke and Mitchell McDiarmid, former SGP3 silver medallist Beau Bailey and Poole signing Fraser Bowes.
Australian Supersport 300 champion Reid Battye makes the transition from tarmac to shale, while Jack Morrison and Jacob Hook complete the line-up.
The Australian Championship series opens with a double-header at Victoria’s Albury Wodonga on January 3 and 4, before moving across the state to Mildura on January 7. The series then climaxes at Adelaide venue Gillman in South Australia on January 9.
This will be followed by the FIM Oceania Championship, also at Gillman, on January 11.
In 2025, the top two riders in the Australian Championship series and the FIM Oceania Championship winner received places in the Speedway GP qualification rounds.
This year’s top stars will hope to fight for a spot at the 2026 FIM SGP Challenge in Terenzano, Italy on July 25, where the top four riders qualify for the 2027 Speedway GP series.
