HOLDER: MY TIME WILL COME

Aussie icon Jack Holder insisted “my time will come” in Speedway GP after landing his second FIM Speedway of Nations world title in Torun.

Holder joined forces with new world No.2 Brady Kurtz and Jason Doyle as the Roos lifted the SON trophy for the second time in three years, beating hosts Poland 7-2 in the Grand Final.

Kurtz came agonisingly close to lifting the Speedway GP World Championship as well this season, finishing just a point behind world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, while Doyle won the SGP crown in 2017.

Holder has not been far off the medals in recent years, finishing fourth in 2023 – denied bronze by just two points having missed the Riga round due to injury. He also took sixth spot in 2024 and was fifth this year.

The two-time Speedway GP winner has shown he can deliver the big results under pressure, and he would love to replicate his golden SON moments in the SGP series.

He said: “The GPs are another level and it’s all about the mindset. I know I can do it. It’s very frustrating if things aren’t going your way.

“You just need to be chilled out, but it’s a big thing – you want that gold medal at the end of the year. It’s all learning and you never stop learning. My time will come.”

One Holder already has his name on the Speedway GP trophy. Jack older brother Chris claimed the SGP crown in Torun in 2012, so it was fitting that he was at trackside to watch his younger sibling triumph there in the SON Final on October 4.

“We are a long way from home, and we are blood,” Jack said. “If he’s racing, I’m there, and if I’m racing, he’s here. No questions asked – we are family. We are taking on the world.”
