World No.2 Brady Kurtz makes a popular return to the club where it all began in Europe after signing for Danish side Holsted for 2026.
The FIM Speedway of Nations world champion made his European debut with the club aged 16 in Denmark’s second tier. He returns as part of their Speedwayligaen squad for next year, joining the likes of former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen, double Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell, Nicolai Klindt, Bastian Pedersen, Francis Gusts and Jonas Knudsen.
Kurtz is delighted to be back. He said: “I really enjoyed my time in Holsted. I have amazing memories of my time spent with Rasmus and Allan and that is something I am very thankful for. It was a period that really helped my career.
“It’s a perfect time to come back. It will be great to be able to give back to the club that helped start my career – and Rasser also spent some time persuading me.
“The Speedwayligaen is getting stronger every year. I can see that many top riders have already signed up for 2026, so it looks like a really strong season. I always check the results all around, but next year I'm going to follow the Danish league even more.
“Recent years have been really good for me, so it will be great to go back to where it all started – and hopefully help Holsted achieve their goal in 2026, whenever I'm used.”
Elsewhere, Danish racer Marcus Birkemose has signed a contract extension with champions Slangerup for 2026.
