Great Britain racer Robert Lambert insisted “I’m not done fighting” as he bids for Speedway GP survival next week.
The 2024 silver medallist scored two points in the DeWalt FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw on Saturday – but left with five after also taking second spot in the afternoon sprint race.
A fall for qualification rival Max Fricke in last-chance qualifier one (LCQ1) ensured the Aussie only left Wroclaw with seven points – added to the one he collected for finishing fourth in the sprint race.
This means Fricke goes into the Speedway GP season finale in Vojens holding the seventh and final automatic qualifying place for 2026 on 75 points, with Lambert three behind on 72 in eighth place.
Having claimed his first Speedway GP win in Vojens last year, Lambert will be determined to deliver another big night in Denmark, where he has reached three straight finals.
He admits 2025 hasn’t been his year so far. Posting on Facebook, the Norfolk racer said: “The GPs just aren’t falling my way this season. Felt great in Qualifying with loads of speed, set the fastest time and came second in the sprint, but the night went downhill from there. Head high and focus forward.
One round to go and the top seven is still within reach. I’m not done fighting.”
