Great Britain racer Robert Lambert will chase a second straight Bauhaus Elitserien title in Sweden after extending his stay with Vastervik.
Lambert played a pivotal role in Vastervik winning their first league title since 2005, as well as captaining Polish club Torun to their first PGE Ekstraliga crown since 2008.
As the world No.7 secures his return to Vastervik for 2026, Lambert looks forward to defending the Bauhaus Elitserien trophy.
He told their Facebook page: “I am really happy to be back on the team and to meet all the fantastic Vastervik fans again. Last season was up and down for me, but to finish with a gold in Vastervik after 20 years of waiting was something really special.
“It was a great achievement, and I look forward to being able to participate in defending the title. Now the hard work begins with pre-season training and preparations for 2026, and I can't wait for the season to get started and to see everyone again in May.”
Vastervik boss Mikael Teurnberg commented: “Of course, it feels very good to get Robert Lambert into the team.
“There will also be a reunion, because I had him with me in Rospiggarna back in 2018, when he was at the beginning of his career, and he showed what a fantastic rider he is then.
“I have only good things to say about Robert, both as a person and as a rider. He masters all kinds of tracks and surfaces, is a real fighter and really wants to race. I have said for years that he is a future world champion.
“Now only one place remains in the squad, but we will not rush anything, and we will think carefully about what will be best for the club.”
Elsewhere, Danish shooting star Mikkel Andersen will make his Bauhaus Elitserien debut with Smederna in 2026.
He told the club’s official website: “I am really looking forward to being part of this club and riding with the Smederna badge on my chest next season.
“It will be my first season in the Bauhaus league, and I am very happy that it will be with Eskilstuna. Hopefully it will give me a lot of experience and great memories together with the team and for the fans. It will be fun to meet everyone at the club and all the fans next season.”
