Latvian ace Andzejs Lebedevs has secured a popular return to Swedish side Dackarna for 2025, while Danish racer Leon Madsen makes his Bauhaus Elitserien return with Smederna.
Lebedevs has spent the past two years in Malilla, becoming a huge fan favourite at the club, which stages the FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla and the FIM SGP2 of Sweden – Malilla once again on July 4 and 5.
His form for Dackarna helped the club reach its second straight Bauhaus Elitserien play-off final, which they lost to Lejonen.
But Dackarna boss Rikard Kling is backing the European champion to play a key role as the Malilla team bids to go one better in 2025, with Danish star Rasmus Jensen and Swedish international Timo Lahti already in the side.
Kling said: “With Andzejs, we get entertainment both on and off the track. Andzejs is a rider who gives his all in all situations. I am satisfied, the sports group is satisfied, and the board is satisfied. I actually think that every single Dackarna supporter is satisfied and pleased with this news.
“It was obviously priority one and it feels very good that we have now been able to present three important cogs in the team building. This means that we have a stable foundation to stand on in the continued construction of the team.”
Meanwhile, Madsen was part of the Dackarna team that sealed victory in the 2023 Bauhaus Elitserien play-off final after being drafted in as a late replacement for Poland’s Maciej Janowski in the closing stages of the season.
Having missed out on a Speedway GP place for 2025, Madsen is set for his first full Bauhaus Elitserien season since he joined the SGP series in 2019 after completing a move to Eskilstuna.
Madsen, who will also compete for Zielona Gora in Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga, said: “I am happy to be back in Sweden for a whole season and race for Smederna. Hopefully we will have a strong team that can fight for a top position. I will do my best to help Smederna reach their goals, and I look forward to meeting everyone to start the next season.”
