Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren will launch his 2025 season in the UK after joining the line-up for the Ben Fund Bonanza in Oxford on Sunday, March 23.
The world No.3 races alongside Aussie icon Jason Doyle in an event, staged to raise cash for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund – a UK charity that supports riders temporarily and permanently sidelined by speedway injuries.
Lindgren spent part of last season competing for Birmingham in Britain’s Rowe Motor Oil Premiership. But following his return to Swedish side Vastervik, he will not be competing full-time in the UK this year – meaning the Ben Fund Bonanza offers a rare chance to see him in UK action.
He will also take part in Aussie international Ryan Douglas’ testimonial at Leicester on Saturday, March 22, before returning to the UK for the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Manchester double-header on June 13 and 14.
Lindgren is pleased to play his part in supporting the sport’s injured stars. The former FIM Speedway World Cup winner said: “It’s one of the good causes to race a bike, with the Ben Fund, helping a lot of the riders who are in difficult situations.”
Lindgren and Doyle are joined in the Ben Fund Bonanza by Great Britain internationals Adam Ellis and Tom Brennan, former British champions Charles Wright and Danny King, former Aussie champion Sam Masters, German international Erik Riss, Oxford racer Lewis Kerr and Birmingham No.1 Tobiasz Musielak, with more names to be announced.
