MADSEN'S FITNESS FIGHT

Danish racer Leon Madsen insisted “I’ll be back very soon” after being forced out of Zielona Gora’s PGE Ekstraliga trip to Wroclaw due to injury last Friday.

The returning Speedway GP star crashed out of former Polish international Grzegorz Walasek’s farewell meeting in Zielona Gora on April 5 and was taken to hospital for checks.

Posting on Facebook, Madsen admits the PGE Ekstraliga opener came too soon for him as he prepares for the WWK FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut on May 2.

Posting on Friday, he wrote: “I had a heavy crash during the Walasek farewell meeting — definitely not the way I wanted to start the season.

“Unfortunately, I suffered a mild concussion and whiplash, and I’m still quite swollen with significant pain in my abdomen and back. There just wasn’t enough time to recover for the @ekstraliga.pl match in Wroclaw.

“I’m very grateful that nothing serious happened to @szczepan_mm (Mateusz Szczepaniak). Good luck to my team @falubazzg. I’ll be back very soon.”
