MAGIC MAKES SWEDISH MOVE

Former world No.3 Maciej Janowski is back in Sweden’s Bauhaus Elitserien after agreeing terms with Smederna for 2026.

The Wroclaw star raced for British side Oxford Spires last term but makes the switch to the Eskilstuna outfit for next season.

Janowski admitted: “It has been a year outside of the Swedish league for me and I have to admit, I missed it! The league is very unique, and I like it a lot. The people, the tracks and even the ferry rides. I'm looking forward to being back.

“Eskilstuna will be a new environment for me but there are many familiar faces, and I am sure I will adapt quickly. We'll see what the season offers, and I will do my best to give the Smederna fans what they deserve. I'm happy to be back in Sweden – let's go!”

Janowski is joined in the Smederna side by the likes of Speedway GP racer Andzejs Lebedevs, Gleb Chugunov, Kim Nilsson, Mathias Pollestad, Mikkel Andersen, Joel Andersson, Daniel Henderson, Anton Jansson, Leo Klasson and Charlie Netz.

Smederna boss Jerker Eriksson said: “Magic is a rider with an incredibly high highest level, and we know he enjoys it in Eskilstuna.

“For us, it is always important to have a good vibe in the team, so it is an added bonus that he knows and works well with the majority of the riders we already have in the squad.

“It will be very exciting to see what Maciej can do with us with the Smederna badge on his chest next year. He will be important to us.”
