Three-time European champion Mikkel Michelsen stepped up his pursuit of title No.4 after winning his qualifying round with a 15-point maximum at French track Lamothe-Landerron on Saturday.
The Dane delivered a perfect performance to advance to the Speedway European Championship Challenge at Italian track Lonigo on July 13.
French international David Bellego also made it through on 13, while Great Britain international Adam Ellis and Germany’s former Speedway GP star Kai Huckenbeck both progressed on 12.
The last spot went to Danish rider Mads Hansen on 11, with Sweden’s Oliver Berntzon and Poland’s Grzegorz Zengota falling just short on 10. French racer Steven Goret also came close on nine.
The top five riders in the SEC Challenge enter the main four-round series – the winner of which earns a guaranteed spot in the 2027 Speedway GP World Championship series.
