Polish champions Torun stormed into the PGE Ekstraliga play-off final on the night they confirmed the signature of Speedway GP World Championship leader Robert Lambert, Patryk Dudek, Emil Sayfutdinov and Mikkel Michelsen until 2028.

Torun blew 2025 play-off final rivals Lublin away 58-32 and 106-74 on aggregate at the Marian Rose Moto Arena with European champion Dudek leading the way on 12 paid 14, while Michelsen added 11, Sayfutdinov tallied 10 and skipper Lambert collected nine paid 10. Victory sets up a final showdown with table-topping Wroclaw, who drew 45-45 at home to Leszno to seal their passage to the final 100-80 on aggregate after they won the first leg 55-35 at the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium.

World No.2 Brady Kurtz collected 13 paid 14 points, with Britain’s Dan Bewley roaring into form with 12 paid 13 as he continues his comeback from a broken femur. Artem Laguta added nine paid 10.

Despite scoring three points, Maciej Janowski also had reason to celebrate after signing a new contract with his hometown team until 2027.

Bewley was delighted to be back at the Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw kevlars for the first time since his crash in Denmark on May 20.

He said: “I think it has been four and a half months since I have been here. I think I’ve made two home meetings this year, so it’s nice to come back. Really, I felt I had the same speed at home that I’ve always had. It’s good, and we are through to the final.

“I am doing everything I can to be healthy and as fit as possible for Sundays and to do my best for Wroclaw. The club has been awesome to me through my injury with physio and everything like that. I’ll do as much as I can to score some points and give a little bit back, and thanks to all the fans for supporting me all the way.”

Torun hosts the first leg of the PGE Ekstraliga play-off final next Sunday, with Wroclaw’s Olympic Stadium staging the decider on October 4.
