POLISH SGP2 STAR BANBOR SET FOR SWEDISH DEBUT IN 2025

Polish SGP2 star Bartosz Banbor is set for his Bauhaus Elitserien debut in 2025 after signing for Swedish side Indianerna.

Banbor helped PGE Ekstraliga giants Lublin to a third straight league title in his homeland this year and now hopes to bring that success to Sweden.

He won FIM Speedway of Nations – SON2 gold with Poland in Manchester last July, and also showed his huge potential in the 3P Logistics FIM SGP2 of Sweden – Malilla last June, finishing second to meeting winner Wiktor Przyjemski on his FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship debut, before going on to take sixth spot in the final standings.

Banbor looks forward to developing his career further with a full season in Sweden’s top tier.

He said: “I am very excited to come to Kumla! I have always wanted to compete in the Swedish league and now I have a fantastic opportunity. I just want to help my new team get good results and for me it's about learning a lot. I hope this will be a good year.”

Team manager Peter Johansson is delighted with his new acquisition. He said: “Bartosz Bańbor is one of the sport's most promising juniors and has shown impressive ability both at club level and internationally.

“His strong performances for Lublin, where he was a key rider in the team's Ekstraliga win, testify to his high level of ambition and potential. He was also a big part of Poland's success in SON2, where he contributed 22 points to the team's gold in Manchester.

“He has two silvers in the individual Polish Under-21 Championship, and we are really looking forward to having him in the team.”

Elsewhere, former Speedway GP rider Kim Nilsson has extended his contract with Eskilstuna side Smederna. He said: “I'm looking forward to another year in Eskilstuna Smederna! I felt immediately after the last match that I wanted to stay and build on the past year. I have enjoyed myself very much at the club and look forward to lifting myself and the team next season. I am charged for a strong 2025.”

Australian racer Ryan Douglas hopes to build on a promising Bauhaus Elitserien debut season with Dackarna after completing a transfer to Rospiggarna, where he joins former Malilla boss Mikael Teurnberg, who recently made the move back to Hallstavik.

Meanwhile, Dackarna has unveiled club protegee Avon van Dyck as their latest signing for 2025.
