Italian international Paco Castagna is on his way to British Premiership side King’s Lynn for 2026.
Castagna joins forces with Speedway GP star Max Fricke, Czech racer Jan Kvech, triple British champion Chris Harris, Aussie ace Ben Cook and British shooting star Cooper Rushen at the Adrian Flux Arena, with their Rising Star to be confirmed soon.
Joining on a bargain 4.13 average, Castagna is being tipped to become a favourite with the King’s Lynn fans – on and off the track.
Team manager Rob Lyon said: “We had just over four points remaining, and we’ve plumped for Paco mainly because of his experience.
“King’s Lynn is a track he hasn’t mastered yet, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing and he’s prepared to knuckle down and get that right.
“Given what else was out there for the number of points we had left, we felt he was very much the best option for us, and I think he’ll be a popular signing.
“Paco is a character, and we need characters in our sport. We haven’t got enough of them as it is. He plays to the crowd, and I also think he’ll be good for the younger riders at the lower end of the team.”
Elsewhere, Sheffield has added British racer Anders Rowe to their side, joining Speedway GP regular Jack Holder.
Tigers team manager Simon Stead said: “When Anders came to us last winter, there was a lot of excitement surrounding his signing.
“He hit the ground running pretty much from the off and, for me, even though I thought he’d always grow as the season went on, he exceeded all expectations. He matured a hell of a lot last season, he certainly progressed as a rider, and he impressed everyone at Sheffield.
“He made it clear very early on that he wanted to be back at Owlerton next year and even when things were uncertain, he remained loyal to the club.
“So once things were confirmed for next year, we finalised things with Anders and it’s going to be another big year for him in 2026.”
