Former world No.2 Patryk Dudek took a step closer towards securing a 2025 Speedway European Championship spot after winning his qualifier at German track Brokstedt on Thursday.
Dudek dropped just one point over five rides, before beating Czech charger Vaclav Milik in a run-off for first place after they tied on 14 points.
Both riders progress to the SEC Challenge at German track Stralsund on May 31, where the top five riders earn places in the four-round SEC series. The 2025 European champion secures a place in the 2026 Speedway GP series.
Dudek and Milik are joined in the SEC Challenge by last year’s SGP2 runner-up, Ukrainian young gun Nazar Parnitskyi, who also was third in Brokstedt on 13. Danish star Rasmus Jensen took the fourth and final spot on offer with 10.
Elsewhere, former SGP2 bronze medallist Bartlomiej Kowalski powered to a fantastic 15-point maximum to win the qualifier in Debrecen, Hungary.
In-form Danish racer Michael Jepsen Jensen joins him in the Challenge after taking second place on 14. Double SGP2 champion Mateusz Cierniak was third on 13 and Czech rider Daniel Klima made the cut on 11 in fourth.
Danish star Frederik Jakobsen booked his place in Stralsund with a 15-point maximum to win the qualifier at Austrian track Mureck.
Swedish international Timo Lahti also qualified on 13, with Poland’s Krzysztof Buczkowski and Ukraine’s Marko Levishyn taking the other two places on offer with 12 points.
The remaining SEC qualifier takes place at French club Lamothe-Landerron on May 17.
