New FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Nazar Parnitskyi is set to test himself in Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga in 2025 after Leszno secured promotion with victory in the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga play-off final on Sunday.
The Bulls triumphed 50-40 at home to Bydgoszcz to complete a 95-85 aggregate success as they return to the world’s biggest speedway league after a one-year absence.
Parnitskyi won the SGP2 world title with a five-ride maximum in the rain-shortened Deluxe Homeart FIM SGP2 of Denmark – Vojens last Friday. And he followed that up with 11 points for Leszno – hours after it was confirmed he had signed a new two-year contract with the club.
Aussie star Ben Cook tallied 10 and Poland’s Grzegorz Zengota backed him up with nine points, while Josh Pickering bid farewell to the club with six points.
Ukrainian racer Aleksandr Loktaev scored 13 points for Bydgoszcz, with former Speedway GP star Szymon Wozniak collecting 10 paid 11.
Leszno’s place in Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga will be taken by the loser of the relegation play-out tie between Rybnik and Gorzow, with Gorzow leading 51-39 going into the second leg at Edward Jancarz Stadium on Saturday. The winning side takes on Bydgoszcz in one more play-off over two legs for the final spot in the next season’s PGE Ekstraliga line-up.
