SZOSTAK SEALS LIONS SWITCH

Former SGP2 star Sebastian Szostak makes the step up to Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga for 2026 after signing for Czestochowa.

Szostak makes the switch from Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga side Ostrow, where he has raced since 2022, and he becomes the Lions’ under-24 rider.

Former Ostrow coach Marusz Staszewski is pleased to work with Szostak again in Czestochowa and hand the rider his PGE Ekstraliga debuit.

He said: “Sebastian is a pupil of mine; I've coached him at Ostrów Wielkopolski since the beginning of his speedway career. He's a very talented rider; if he believes in himself more, I'm sure we'll see significant progress from him.

“He'll replace Wiktor Lampart as an under-24 rider in the team. Sebastian had a very good end to the season in the Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga, and I'm hoping he'll carry that same form over to the Ekstraliga. As long as he avoids injuries, which he has had a few times in his career, I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun with him.”
