THOMPSON TAKES BEN FUND WIN

Great Britain racer Dan Thompson made a triumphant return to 2025 club Glasgow with victory in the Ben Fund Bonanza on Saturday.

After scoring 11 points in his heats, the Leicester and Edinburgh star won the semi ahead of new Glasgow signing Kevin Juhl Pedersen, Danny King and Leon Flint to reach the final. He then repeated the trick in the final, getting the better of Juhl Pedersen again, with the Dane placed second ahead of compatriot Peter Kildemand in third and Justin Sedgmen in fourth.

Kildemand and Sedgmen went straight through to the final after scoring 12 points apiece in the heats. They pipped Glasgow rider Flint on countback after he also registered 12.

King notched nine, with Kyle Howarth and Ben Barker collecting eight. Chris Harris and Kye Thomson scoring seven and Tom Brennan and Jason Edwards picking up six.

The annual event is staged to raise vital funds for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund – a charity which supports riders temporarily or permanently sidelined by injuries sustained in British speedway or representing GB.
