THOMSEN DEFENDS DANISH TITLE IN BROVST

Speedway GP star Anders Thomsen will defend his Danish Championship crown at Brovst Speedway next Wednesday as the nation’s finest bid for a dream ticket to FIM Speedway’s Weekend of Champions in Vojens.

Thomsen, who competes on his Polish home track in the FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow this Saturday, lifted his third national title in 2024, and he is joined in this year’s Danish Final by Speedway GP rival Mikkel Michelsen.

The stakes are high in Brovst as the 2025 Danish champion, or the highest-placed non-SGP regular, will receive the wild card for the Deluxe Homeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens on Saturday, September 13.

Three FIM Speedway world champions will be crowned on a huge weekend of racing as Vojens Speedway Center celebrates its 50th anniversary, with the final round of SGP2 – the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship – taking place on Friday, September 12. The FIM SGP4 World Championship for the sport’s 190cc stars aged 11-13 will be staged on Saturday, September 13.

Battling for the Deluxe Homeart FIM Danish Speedway GP wild card are former SGP stars Michael Jepsen Jensen and Niels Kristian Iversen, plus the likes of Frederik Jakobsen, Mads Hansen, Jonas Jeppesen and Andreas Lyager.

SGP2 stars Mikkel Andersen and William Drejer compete, along with former SGP2 riders Benjamin Basso, Villads Nagel and Jonas Knudsen. Matias Nielsen, Tim Sorensen and Rune Thorst complete the line-up. Former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen, Michael Thyme, Jonas Seifert-Salk and Nicolai Heiselberg are listed as reserves.
