Danish star Mikkel Michelsen says picking up his maiden Speedway GP win in Landshut last season was “an explosion of emotions” as this week’s Twist the Throttle looks back on the 2024 action.
Episode four gets underway with the best of the 2024 FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut – the venue’s first SGP event since 1997. Watch it below from 19:00 CET / 18:00 UK on Wednesday evening.
The 2025 Speedway GP series opens at the OneSolar Arena on May 3, but before then, fans can relive last year’s thriller, which culminated in Michelsen ending his wait for an SGP win.
“I felt really good that night,” Michelsen said. “Even though I didn’t start off the night that well, I was last in my first heat, after that, we felt very fast and confident all night. In the semi-final, I felt I had the pace to make it to the final.
“There have been doubts and there has been a lot of hard work from my side and also from my entire team. To finally get that first win and give back to them was just an explosion of emotions, to be honest. It was a great memory to look back at and something I will never forget.”
