Aussie icon Jason Doyle recalls the night he ended his seven-year search for a Speedway GP win as episode one of Twist the Throttle Season 3 premieres on YouTube tonight.
Featuring exclusive interviews with the Speedway GP class of 2024 and insight from American legend Greg Hancock, the first of five episodes relives the 2024 FIM Speedway GP of Croatia and 2024 Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw.
We look back on Jack Holder’s first-ever Speedway GP victory in Croatia, as well as reliving Doyle’s PGE Narodowy triumph. Watch this week’s episode below from 18:00 UK time / 19:00 CET.
It was Doyle’s first Speedway GP win since he sealed the 2017 World Championship with victory at the FIM Speedway GP of Australia – Melbourne, and one he celebrated wildly.
“I was ecstatic,” he said. “I think that’s the best word to say. Obviously, I celebrated a little too hard after the win. I crashed and fell off the air fence! It was enjoyable and just shows the true emotions when you do win a GP. It means a lot to a lot of riders.
“The last one was when I won the world title in 2017. I won Melbourne and then struggled for so many years trying to get back on the top step.
“I work so hard. It was only me that knew I had the chance and new opportunities to be a Grand Prix winner again. To win in Warsaw was an amazing moment.”
