WORYNA RACES ON WITH LIONS

Lejonen boss Anders Frojd hailed lionhearted Speedway GP newcomer Kacper Woryna after he sealed a return to the Gislaved club for 2026.

The FIM SGP Challenge runner-up, who makes his full-time World Championship debut next year, first joined Lejonen in 2018 and helped the club win the Bauhaus Elitserien title in 2024.

Despite Woryna facing a busy 2026 season with Speedway GP and Speedway European Championship action, as well as racing for Polish side Lublin in the PGE Ekstraliga, Frojd is backing him to shine in Sweden too.

He said: “Kacper Woryna is a complete rider who can start quickly, ride fast and overtake. He also likes to ride in bad conditions.

“He had a fantastic season this year. He is a real crowd favourite in Lejonen who can ride on the fence if necessary and who can be brutally hard. He can beat any rider in the world.

“Kacper always comes early to Lejonen's matches, he trains on the track, and he likes to go to Isaberg and play golf before the match. He is very important to the team.

“Next year he will ride for a new club in Poland, Lublin, which has won the Polish championships a few times in recent years. He will also ride in the GP series and the SEC. Despite this tough program, there was no doubt that he wanted to continue riding for Lejonen. It shows that he has a big Lion's heart.”

Elsewhere, Aussie international Jaimon Lidsey has extended his stay at Vargarna into 2026, while Latvian racer Daniils Kolodinskis will race on with Piraterna.
