Speedway GP star Kacper Woryna surged to the top of the Polish Championship standings after blazing to an 18-point maximum to win round two in Bydgoszcz on Saturday.
FIM German Speedway GP winner Woryna is enjoying the season of his life, and he stepped it up again with six straight wins at the Polonia Stadium to move on to 26 points overall.
This puts him four clear of nearest rivals Maciej Janowski and Patryk Dudek, who have 22 in second and third place respectively ahead of the final round in Ostrow on August 15.
Home rider Krzysztof Buczkowski delighted the locals by finishing second in the final with another local hero Wiktor Przyjemski third. This saw both riders charge on to 20 points apiece, while Dudek finished fourth on the night, despite going straight through to the final on 10 points.
Bydgoszcz sensation Maksymilian Pawelczak and Jamrog tied on 10 points with Dudek after five rides, with the former world No.2 advancing by virtue of achieving three race wins.
Buczkowski won the last-chance race to join Woryna and Dudek in the final, with Przyjemski progressing in second, while Pawelczak and Jamrog suffered elimination.
It was a night to forget for six-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, who won his opening ride, but suffered a bike failure in his second, before managing just one point from his final three rides.
Despite winning the opening round in Torun, scoring 16 points there, he collected just four in Bydgoszcz, leaving him fourth in the standings on 20 – tied with Buczkowski, Piotr Pawlicki and Przyjemski. Jakub Jamrog is eighth on 16, with Speedway GP star Dominik Kubera and Tobiasz Musielak tied on 15.
